Copper producer KAZ Minerals Plc formerly Kazakhmys PLC, reported that its copper production in the third quarter increased by 7 percent to 77.2 kt from 72.3 kt in the preceding second quarter, with higher ore throughput at all assets. Copper production also rose from 75.3 kt in the year-ago period.
Gold output in the third quarter rose to 45.1 koz from 39.9 koz in the previous quarter, and also from 44.8 in the year-ago period.
Silver production in the quarter rose to 941 koz from 785 koz in the second quarter, but declined from 952 koz in the prior-year quarter.
Looking ahead, the company said it is well positioned to achieve its full-year copper production guidance of 270 kt to 300 kt, while gold output is expected to be at top end of 160 koz to 175 koz guidance range.
